The Phone Scaries

Time to ghost your phone! This isn't your ordinary pottery workshop... Join us to investigate the scariest ghost story of all, the worldwide smartphone haunting, and leave with a tool to put your spooky little phone in its place.

Our relationship with our phones has become (beyond) scary. These days we're contactable any time, anywhere and anyhow. Our online movements are being watched and our phones are listening in on everything we do. Sometimes it even feels like social media companies are reading our minds... Ever got an ad for something you thought about only once and never even said out loud? It sounds like something straight out of a horror film, but unfortunately it isn 't!

Technology designed to connect us is consuming us. Somewhere along the way, the social part of social media became inseparable from feeds, notifications, algorithms and platforms designed to keep us scrolling. The tools we once used to communicate slowly became products competing for our attention.

Now it's time to reclaim some balance.

Step one: Phone Jail!

Join us for an offline workshop where we'll make a home for your phone to stay put when you're trying to switch off from the endless notifications. Everyone can get creative and make their own 'Phone Jail' while chatting about how our phones have become the uninvited guest in every room. 

The workshop is a one-off ceramic making session, where we will finish off glazing your items in one single flat colour (in your choice of 4 Call Club colours). Alternatively, you can choose an additional Pansy Pack (+€23) which includes a take-home DIY kit for you to customise and paint your own phone jail at home. Just bring it back whenever it's finished, and we'll look after the firing! 

Your object will be ready for collection within 2 weeks. We'll email you as soon as it's ready. You can pick it up from pansy (we’d love to see you again!) or we can post it to you.
